Money
Tight constraints can sometimes be the generator of some really interesting projects. We had a client with 10,000 euro, 2 kids, and the wish to live unconventionally. We found them an old flower warehouse to rent in a gentrifying suburb of Berlin.
Because of the small budget we decided to insulate only half of the apartment. The apartment was divided in two halves, a summer half and a winter half. This was possible because of the two entries. We wanted to maintain the qualities of the loft so we kept walls to a minimum providing a strip of amenity for sleeping and cooking. The winter half of the apartment could be rented as office or event space or used as a winter garden.

life abroad
Once upon a time I lived and worked in Zurich. At lunch times my colleagues and I would walk down to the river and float down with the current before eating our sandwiches together and catching some sun. In the cities where the winters are long, the summers are really celebrated!
